Open-Faced Heirloom Tomato and Ricotta Sandwich

Open-Faced Heirloom Tomato and Ricotta Sandwich
Ingredients
- 4 slices sourdough bread about 3/4-inch (2 cm) thick, toasted
- 1 clove garlic halved
- 1 ripe heirloom tomato slices
- 1 cup smooth ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
- 1/2 tsp each coarse salt and freshly ground black pepper (approx.)
- 4 sprigs basil
Instructions
- Rub cut side of garlic clove all over toasted bread. Top is tomato slices.
- Smear ricotta over tomatoes. Drizzle with olive oil.
- Season with salt and pepper. Garnish with basil leaves.
Notes
Tip: Change things up based on what ingredients are in season and on-hand. Try burrata with figs and honey or brie with peaches and maple syrup.
